The holidays aren't just in the United States, they are everywhere.
Christmas is a very special time of the year for people to grow close together and celebrate with their loved ones.
Unfortunately, some of our loved ones are many, many miles away fighting in Iraq, or stationed elsewhere. My boyfriend
Lance Corporal William Drake is a Marine in Iraq and he won't be home til April. Being away from home for the holidays
especially when you are out in war can be very difficult. How do you celebrate when you are in a foreign place, surrounded
by foreign people? You look to those at home to send their love to you. Its not much to ask to show a little appreciation
to those men and women overseas that we are greatful for what they are doing and that we are thinking of them this time of
year. Want to help? Here is how.
For Christmas, If you could go by a card and write a little message that can be given to any
soldier telling them thanks and happy holidays, and write your name and where you are from. You could also donate any bit
of money because sending this stuff over to them is not cheap. Or you could go to the store and buy some of the packaged
meats, cheeses and crackers to send over to them so they have christmas goodies. Also ask people at work to help out
too and you can bring that stuff over too. Ask employers to donate things from the store. We are trying to
get as much as we can. At this point the troops will take anything to let them know that we care. Please keep the holidays
in your heart.
So donate a christmas card with a message, a few bucks or even just one, or some christmas goods,
Doesn't matter what. and bring it to my house by the 10th of December so i can get it wrapped and packaged and sent by the
11th to guaruntee that they get it by christmas.
You can just leave it on the porch if you would like.
